Investigating the X-ray and Gamma-ray Properties of Type Ia Mixed Morphology Supernova Remnants
Abstract
Recent X-ray observations revealed a recombining plasma (RP) in some core-collapse mixed-morphology Galactic supernova remnants (MM SNRs). We searched for evidence of RPs in the Type Ia MM SNRs using their Suzaku spectra. We found that the plasma of these SNRs is still ionizing. We investigated the possible reasons for the non-detection of RP in Type Ia MM SNRs and explored their X-ray properties. We also analyzed their gamma-ray data obtained with the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope to investigate a possible connection to the gamma-ray properties of these SNRs.
